Rust Repair

This is what calcium will to to your vehicle over time. The cause of this is the salt and dirt that's spread on the roads during the winter months to prevent icing. This is a very hard situation to avoid in the state of Maine. A lot of people will try to sand off the rust that is visible and paint over the rest thinking the problem is solved, but actually a rocker panel rots from the inside out. Sand and salt slowly fills the open cavity through drain holes and sits there corroding the inside of the rocker panels. The best way to get all the rust out is to cut out a piece and flip it over. If the rust is still on the opposite side of the piece cut out then keep on cutting. Once the rust from the inside of the rocker panel is all removed now its time to put in the new metal.
